Explore the Lake Waco Wetlands with Waco Walks!

Date: March 8

Location: Lake Waco Wetlands Research & Education Center, 1752 Eichelberger Crossing Road, China Spring
Walk Length: 1.5 to 2 miles

Join Waco Walks for a guided tour of the Lake Waco Wetlands, a thriving ecosystem created in 2000 to offset habitat loss from the rising water levels of Lake Waco. Explore nature trails, enjoy birdwatching and photography, and experience the peaceful beauty of the wetlands. Nora Schell, Program Coordinator for the Wetlands, will lead our tour, sharing insights into the area's water conservation efforts and ecological importance.

Important Details:

  • Organizers: Nora Schell & Ashley Bean Thornton

  • Accessibility: The area around the center is ADA-compliant, but trails are gravel. All-terrain wheelchairs/scooters may be suitable.

  • Hydration: Bring your own water.

  • Dogs: Welcome on a leash—please clean up after them!
